Pollen Arts a Fabulous ETSY Shop

"Pollen Arts" is a fabulous ETSY shop I came across while searching the net for some handcrafted beeswax candles. What's so special about this shop is that Pollen Arts creates their candles using antique bottles!! The candles are absolutely beautiful and perfect for enjoying yourself or for gift giving.

I love beeswax candles, and when I found these I had to share their shop. The wonderful thing about beeswax candles is that they burn clean and use a renewable source of energy in a divine honey scented way. Take a moment and check out all the beautiful antique bottle candles from Pollen Arts on ETSY

Coles Phillips and the Fadeaway Girls

As the weather in Atlanta begins to warm, and springs calls forth the profusion of red buds and azaleas, my mind begins to revel in the long summer days of the past. Glorious summers of sand and surf. We spent them on the beaches of the Great Lakes, where the sun melted on the horizon of the blue water and glistened on the white capped waves and the beach was a crazy quilt of colorful towels and umbrellas. Coppertone and brine scented the air. Gulls calling and Motown's latest release mixed with the sounds of boats splashing across the water's surface.

In my reverie, I am reminded of an American Illustrator of the 20's, Coles Phillips, famous for the "Fade-Away Girls", his illustrations were incomplete and allowed one's mind to fill in the beauty.
Of all his many works, one of my favorites is titled, Smooth Sailing, it takes me back to those summers at the Lakes and I almost can smell the Coppertone and the brackish scent of the beach.

American Folk Art Museum

Those fortunate to be in New York City March 25-30,
plan to stop by the American Folk Art Museum for "Infinite Variety" Three Centuries of Red & White Quilts. It will consist of 650 red and white quilts, on loan from the private collection of Joanna S. Rose. It is the largest collection of quilts ever exhibited in New York, and best of all, it is free to the public!!!
